WWE: Women’s Singles Match On Charlotte Flair’s WrestleMania 34 Wishlist
In each of the past two years, the WWE has given the fans matches for the women’s championship at WrestleMania. The issue is that none of those three matches were singles matches, and singles matches carry more weight when it comes to attracting attention and building stars.
At WrestleMania 32, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Charlotte Flair, who would win the Triple Threat match, fought it out for the new Women’s Championship. The title represented the merciful end of the “Divas” era in WWE, and many saw it as the culmination of the hard work that the “Four Horsewomen” consistently put in NXT.
UPROXX recently interviewed Charlotte Flair, the current SmackDown Women’s Champion, for her thoughts on WrestleMania 34, which will take place in New Orleans.
When asked what is on her “WrestleMania wishlist” as a fan of the product, Charlotte responded that she would like to see a singles match involving two women.
"“Honestly, for a women’s singles match. I know that WrestleMania is a day that we try to get everyone involved because it is the biggest day of the year. It’s such a family event. But I would like a women’s singles match.”"
Last year, there were matches for the SmackDown and Raw Women’s Championships, the latter involved Charlotte, but they were both multi-women matches. Both were solid contests, but neither allowed individual wrestlers to truly showcase themselves. Furthermore, they weren’t given enough time, which becomes an even bigger issue if multiple wrestlers are trying to “get their (stuff) in”.
I’m sure there are many fans out there who share Charlotte’s wish for WrestleMania, and a well-built women’s feud would be awesome. With Asuka now on the main roster and Paige back, the star power has only been increased. Additionally, the two new NXT-heavy stables on the main roster have added further intrigue.
That said, the two big feuds that fans have been clamoring for, Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks vs. Bayley, have yet to materialize, and both would be rivalry matches capable of stealing the show at WrestleMania.

The women stole the show at WrestleMania 32, and they could do the same in 2018, especially if Charlotte’s wish for a high-end singles match comes to fruition. And who knows, maybe it will involve Charlotte in some way? I know I’d love to see her in a classic match against someone like Asuka or Becky.
