3. The Ember Moon era begins

There isn’t a more prestigious championship in all of the WWE than the NXT Women’s Title. There’s only been six holders of the prize since it debuted over four years ago. In contrast there’s been 11 holders of the Raw Women’s Championship in less than half the time. Every NXT title reign has meant something and felt important. This championship doesn’t flip-flop around the division or get thrown about like a game of pass the parcel.

Oh no, being NXT Women’s Champion actually counts. You only have to look at the previous title holders to see that. Paige, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Asuka all had memorable reigns and now hold key positions on the main roster.

Ember Moon is next in line. She’s the biggest star in the division and can make just as significant an impact on the main roster as her predecessors. Moon is an excellent in-ring performer and is no slouch on the microphone. She carries herself like a star and is rightfully booked like one.

Moon is a worthy successor to Asuka’s throne and is ready to lead the division into 2018. The roster was sapped of talent when three of the Four Horsewomen left in 2015, and again when Bayley, Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax were called up during the WWE Draft in 2016. But Moon helped build the division back up.

The NXT Women’s Championship’s history and prestige gives a rub to all future champions. Ember Moon is the right choice to carry the torch. And like the five champions before her, Moon is destined for the stars (pun intended).
