In the Survivor Series aftermath, Paige made her much anticipated return to WWE. What’s next for her and her new running buddies?
One of my favorite pastimes as a WWE fan is to try and guess what’s going to happen in the future. I don’t go out of my way to spoil myself. But trying to get into the heads of the creative department is a good way to kill some time.
We’re a week removed from Survivor Series, where Team Raw established itself as the superior brand in the company. It wasn’t without drama, though, and now General Manager Kurt Angle is less trusting of Commissioner Stephanie McMahon than before. Meanwhile, on SmackDown Live, the Blue Team followed up a disappointing loss with a pretty lackluster show.
Here are this week’s bold predictions for WWE programming.
Paige and Crew Get Booked in a Match
Last week on Raw, Paige made her return to WWE after a lengthy absence. She didn’t come alone, though. No, when Paige interrupted a fatal four way match to determine Alexa Bliss’s next opponent, she came with a pair of NXT superstars in tow – Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. The Tough Enough alumni worked with the Anti-Diva to decimate Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James, Alicia Fox, and Bliss herself before the night was over.
The prevailing belief seems to be that a further rampage (ram-Paige?) is in store this week. But what kind of bold prediction would it be if I stuck to the prevailing belief? Instead, I’m calling a match of some sort – whether a singles match for one of the three women, a tag match with Paige managing Rose and Deville, or a six person tag match.
It’s a good time for Raw to feature a variety of action – there’s no pay per view for the Raw brand until the Royal Rumble in January. So let’s not waste any time, and just dive right into the match portion of their story. A few preliminary matches, then just before Christmas an episode of Raw akin to the “Wild Card” episode of SmackDown a few months back could be like a mini pay per view. That could be where Paige faces Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship. So let’s get her back in action – officially – ASAP.
