WWE Raw took a relaxed approach building towards Royal Rumble. But that did not stop the stars from producing quality matches. Who were the biggest stars from the night?
WWE Raw aired from Knoxville this week as the superstars slugged it out in the ring. Feuds advanced in a relaxed pace since the next Raw PPV is Royal Rumble in January. As such, there was no sense of urgency. But that doesn’t mean the show was a downer. It dragged along for a brief stretch but most of the matches and segments had their place on the card.
The biggest star of the night was undoubtedly Elias. The Drifter put on the greatest performance of his career so far, against Roman Reigns. It was a fun match that honestly shouldn’t have been as good as it was. My prior judgement was that it would merely be an excuse to put Reigns over with a dominating victory. But how wrong was I. We will talk about that later.
Samoa Joe continued to impress the WWE Universe with another monstrous attack twice during the show. One of those attacks earned him a title shot as well. This should be an excellent spot for the Samoan Submission Specialist. Bray Wyatt would also make his return to television with another cryptic promo. Matt Hardy moved closer towards insanity and Paige came up with a name for her cult-like faction.
The show had its ups and downs but you couldn’t complain. Seeing Elias fill in the shoes of the mid-card heel, a role handled perfectly by the Miz was surprising. But it was fresh nevertheless and Elias thrived under the spot light. Who were the biggest stars from the night amidst all this though?
