The Dec. 11 edition of WWE Raw continued the theme of strong matches with solid storytelling thrown in as the WWE rapidly approaches the new year.
WWE Raw has had momentum as of late with strong in-ring competition, and last night’s Raw kept that trend alive with a few standout matches. In addition, the show also saw several storyline developments in a variety of different feuds.
The picture is becoming clearer for Raw’s scene at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and the buildup to the January classic will ratchet up in the coming weeks. With that being said, let’s take a look at five key takeaways from the Dec. 11 edition of Raw.
5. Absolution vs. The Raw Women’s Division Could Be Compelling
An influx of two women’s trios has already shaken up both Monday nights and Tuesday nights. But from the Raw perspective, the trio of Paige, Sonya Deville, and Mandy Rose has been thrown into a major spotlight among the women’s division.
Absolution has proven to be a dominating commodity already and is in for some big storylines in the future. But as of late, a storyline has arisen for the trio that sees the women’s division banning together to take on Absolution. This came to light during last night’s Raw.
After winning a tag team match earlier in the night, Absolution wasn’t finished making its presence felt and approached Asuka later in the night as she was scheduled to face Alicia Fox. But just as the trio was set to gang up on Asuka, the rest of the Raw women’s division rushed the ring to thwart off Absolution in a show of unity.
Heels and babyfaces alike fought off Absolution and laid their claim that they won’t allow the trio to take over Monday nights. This could create some memorable moments and matches in the coming weeks and months if handled correctly. It could really shake up things among the women’s division even more than it has been.
Absolution is out to take over, but the rest of the Raw women’s roster has other ideas and this storyline could give Raw’s women’s division a major boost heading into the new year.
