Who came up as a loser by the end of WWE Raw this week? After this week’s main event, Kane is in need of some serious character rehab.
As much as we’d all like to think everything is sunshine, roses, and kittens, sometimes people hit a rough patch. It’s no different for WWE superstars. Sometimes, they’re just in a funk. After WWE Raw this week, there’s a few superstars who fall into this category.
This isn’t to say there’s no hope for these particular superstars to come back to the promised land. It’s WWE – things can change in a heartbeat. But at the present, here are three superstars who are in need of a big boost in the coming weeks.
Kane
The Big Red Monster is a WWE Legend. After he finally retires, he’s a surefire Hall of Famer. He may even be the next mayor of Knox County in Tennessee. But one thing he isn’t is the top monster on Raw – not after his actions in the main event of this week’s show.
Since his surprise return to WWE just before TLC in October, Kane has been built up as a force to be reckoned with. He’s going toe to toe with Braun Strowman – another unstoppable superstar. The two have waged war for months now, with each trying to stake their claim as the true monster on Monday nights.
So this week’s main event was a big deal even before a shot at Brock Lesnar and the Universal Title came into the mix. Throw in a Royal Rumble match to take down The Beast and we should have had a knock down, drag out fight. Instead, we got a double count out, with some decent brawling after the fact.
The match itself wasn’t great, but to me, the worst part was Kane’s attitude. Rather than step up to Strowman, instead Kane showed fear. Sure, it’s great for Braun, but it absolutely neuters Kane in the process. How the Big Red Machine will come back from this, I have no idea. (He’ll probably end up in a triple threat match at the Royal Rumble for the Universal Title, so yay.)
But Kane is not the only person who comes out looking bad from this one match (no, it’s not Braun, don’t worry)…
