WWE Women’s Royal Rumble: Trish Stratus Teases Entry

On Monday Night Raw, Stephanie McMahon and the WWE announced that the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble will take place next year, and a legend of the company has already teased an appearance at the event.

It’s certainly been a long time coming, but the WWE is finally giving the fans a Women’s Royal Rumble in 2018. This is just another step in the company’s effort to finally display some equality in their wrestling product, as the women will be able to compete in a Royal Rumble match, which is something the men have been able to do for decades.

The WWE main roster is stocked with female talent, as the depth in the Raw and SmackDown Live women’s divisions is more pronounced than ever. NXT superstars like Ember Moon and Kairi Sane have even teased entry into the Women’s Royal Rumble match, but what’s even more noteworthy is the fact that a legend of the past is also teasing an appearance.

Trish Stratus is a seven-time WWE Women’s Champion and a former WWE Hardcore Champion. She’s also one of the most important wrestlers in the history of this business, and her appearance at the Women’s Royal Rumble match would kick the star factor of the event up a notch.

It’s unclear if the WWE will also have 30 women competing in the women’s rumble, but if they do plan on having 30 competitors, getting appearances from legends of the past like Stratus could be a good thing.

Obviously, Stratus would only be in the match for a few minutes and wouldn’t go on an elimination spree, but having her in the match wouldn’t hurt anybody at all. I mean, she’s a legend, and there’s no shame in a lower-level wrestler on the roster getting eliminated by a seven-time champion.

We’ve seen Michelle McCool tease a match with Charlotte Flair earlier this year, and she could be another name that could tease a rumble appearance. It will be exciting to see if other former WWE wrestlers like Stratus start tweeting about making an appearance, and I’m sure we’ll have some surprise nostalgia acts.
