WWE Rumors: Is A Ronda Rousey Appearance At The Rumble Unlikely?
There have been a number of rumors linking Ronda Rousey to a WWE debut in 2018, including several that indicate she could even win the 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble. A new report casts the likelihood of a Rumble appearance into doubt.
Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest stars in the history of combat sports, and the WWE has had eyes on the former UFC Champion for quite some time. She has one of the strongest brands of any athlete, and she would immediately raise the WWE’s star profile.
There has been rampant speculation that Rousey is close to signing with WWE, and rumors have linked her to a possible WrestleMania match, such as the previously rumored horsewoman vs. horsewoman battle. Recent rumors have also indicated that she could potentially appear at – and even win – the first ever woman’s Royal Rumble.
Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin reports that Rousey, however, will be in Colombia to film parts of the film “Mile 22”. Rousey will be appearing in this movie, which contains a star-studded cast (Mark Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan, and John Malkovich are involved).
They will be shooting in Bogota, and a source informed Satin that they won’t be finished with their work in Colombia until after the Royal Rumble, which is set to take place in Philadelphia on Jan. 28. Furthermore, Satin reports that “an actual deal hasn’t been hammered yet”, which is more evidence that reports that a deal between both sides was close were premature. He adds that a deal is “unlikely” if a contract isn’t signed prior to the Rumble.
Although nobody can rule out Rousey appeared at the Royal Rumble, her WWE debut seems likely to occur at a later date. She may need more time to train before making a splash at a major WWE event, let alone winning a key match. For example, MMA horsewoman Shayna Baszler made it to the finals of the Mae Young Classic, but she had pro wrestling experience prior to that achievement in WWE.

All news regarding Rousey’s status are worth watching, because it would be a big deal if she signs with WWE. It seems like a foregone conclusion that she will end up in WWE, but nothing is official yet, which means that speculating about a Rumble appearance (let alone a victory) may be a bit too presumptuous at this stage.
