Elias Performs Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ at WWE Live Show (VIDEO)

Lets start 2018 with a story about Elias being absolutely hilarious at a WWE Live show.

“Hello, I am Elias”, has now become a catchphrase for arguably the breakout WWE Superstar of 2017. A man that many thought wouldn’t work on the main roster, has without a doubt, proved people wrong. His gimmick is simple, yet garners him heat every time he walks out to ring. And that was no different at a recent house show to end 2017.

Elias was probably feeling the holiday spirit and, as such, was in a good mood for once. Therefore, he decided to pull out a pop classic for everyone in attendance at a WWE live show on Dec. 30. Yes, Elias performed Drake’s “Hotline Bling” in the artist’s hometown of Toronto.

Unfortunately, this forty-second gem is all I could find. Hopefully, in the new year Elias can bust out another few hit records on WWE TV for all the world to see.

As mentioned earlier, Elias has well and truly been a breakout star of 2017. From smashing guitars, to singing hateful songs about the city he’s in, Elias has been a glorified ‘heat magnet’. His character is almost a throwback, in the sense that even some ‘smart fans’ despise the character, which means he’s doing his job wonderfully.

And Elias is far from just a great entrance, or rather, a great sing-a-long. He’s proven that he can hang with the best of them, including 16-time WWE Champion John Cena. As Daily DDT’s Twitter writes, the best part of Cena and Elias squaring-off on the last Raw of 2017 is the fact that Cena most likely told Vince McMahon that he wanted to do a fun segment with Elias for his Christmas return. And Vince agreed.

I wouldn’t say it’s too much of a stretch to see Elias fighting for the Universal Championship in 2018, once Reigns (most likely) picks up the belt. The two big men have already proven they can put on a great match, so why not include the Universal Title this time? It just makes sense.
