Was the First Impact Wrestling Show of 2018 Worth the Hype?
It was the first Impact Wrestling show of 2018 and the cared was stacked. Four of the five Impact championships were on the line in an action packed first show. One of the matches that a title wasn’t on the line had more title at stake. James Storm battles Dan Lambert in a match where the loser must leave Impact Wrestling.
One of the hooking points for the year is to continue to showcase the X-Division as it was last year. Tonight’s show began with an X-Division Championship match. It pinned two of the very best in the division against each other. Trevor Lee and Taiji Ishimori have had bad blood over the past few months. Ishimori finally gets his shot at the Championship but everyone knows that Caleb Konley won’t be far behind Trevor Lee.
The Grand Championship is on the line for the first time ever in a triple threat match. Fallah Bahh and Matt Sydal look to dethrone confident champion, Ethan Carter III. EC3 has found ways to retain the Grand Championship no matter the circumstance. Tonight he has his work cut out for him against two totally different opponents.
Eli Drake defends his Impact Global Championship against Alberto El Patron at Wrestle Pro. With no help from Chris Adonis tonight, El Patron may have his best chance to regain his Grand Championship. Ohio Versus Everything and the Latin American Xchange are set for a fight over the Tag Team Championships in the main event. LAX must win this match or leave Impact Wrestling. This and more on this week’s Impact Wrestling.
