On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon continued to muddle the main event scene with their bickering, so it was Mojo Rawley who earned some momentum for himself.

Each week, we rank the top 20 superstars on WWE SmackDown Live, and this week’s edition takes a positive view of the wrestlers competing for the United States Championship. The tournament has been arguably the best thing about Tuesday nights lately, and the eventual pay-off involving a returning Dolph Ziggler should make it even sweeter.

20. Carmella

Ms. Money in the Bank hasn’t been active on television lately, but she did get paired up with Big E as her partner for the Mixed Match Challenge. I can’t think of a better person to work with on the New Day than Big E, though Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods wouldn’t exactly have been a disappointment either. But now, Big E and Carmella should be considered sleepers to win the whole thing, though I’m guessing Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman are most people’s favorites.

19. The Ascension

For the first time ever, it looked like the Bludgeon Brothers would have at least a little bit of trouble in the ring, because the Ascension had a gameplan and came out of the gate hot. Obviously, they were squashed, but at least they had some offense, and Corey Graves did put them over on commentary in defeat.

With the Ascension, though, it’s all about their performances in skits with the Fashion Police, and the whole “training montage” thing was money. Oh, and props to anyone who has ever tried to drink a raw egg yolk, because that is indeed nasty.
