Report: No Heat From WWE On Sasha Banks For Paige Injury

At a WWE Live Event in Uniondale in late December, Paige suffered a serious injury after being kicked from behind by Sasha Banks. The situation was unfortunate but unavoidable, and there is reportedly no heat on Banks for the incident.

Paige made her in-ring return in WWE back in November, coming out on Monday Night Raw with three NXT call-ups alongside her. Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose, and Paige would make up the promising “Absolution” stable, which figured to make a big impact at the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble. Some even believed that the stable made the charismatic Paige a favorite to win the Rumble, but now it is impossible to envision that marquee win happening.

A few days ago, PW Insider reported that Paige’s in-ring career in WWE is “done”, as she suffered an injury at a WWE Live Event in late December that was more severe than expected. Paige’s situation is compare to Edge’s, so her injury was unavoidable and did not stem from an isolated incident.

Her injury at the live event came after she was kicked from behind by Sasha Banks, who is one of the biggest stars in women’s wrestling today. Despite Sasha’s clout and consistently high-quality work in the ring, some fans decided to send vitriol her way on social media, blaming “The Legit Boss” for Paige’s injury.

Although blaming Sasha completely flies against all logic on multiple levels, other fans were worried that maybe she will have “heat” from some people backstage after what happened. Thankfully, PWInsider.com has confirmed that Banks doesn’t have heat from WWE personnel, as Mike Johnson reports that people backstage have “told” PWInsider.com that there is no heat. They see it as an incident that could have transpired regardless of the opponent.

It’s good to hear confirmation that the WWE doesn’t hold anything against Sasha for an injury that was likely the result of Paige’s previous career-threatening neck injury, as well as the wear-and-tear from having wrestled for so many years.
