WWE’s groundbreaking tournament, the Mixed Match Challenge, will debut Jan. 16 on Facebook Watch. Predicting the winners is harder than it seems.

WWE dropped a historical announcement that shook the company out of its comfort zone. Starting Jan. 16, WWE will air a groundbreaking single-elimination tournament that pairs one male superstar with one female superstar to form a tag team for a Mixed Match Challenge.

The tournament will air in the U.S. exclusively on Facebook’s live platform Facebook Watch and will air every Tuesday at 10 p.m. EST, following SmackDown Live, for 12 weeks. Each episode will last roughly 20 minutes, and fans will get the chance to interact with their favorite superstars, choose match stipulations, choose a team that will be given a second chance, and experience the next footnote in WWE’s ever-evolving history.

WWE took on the challenge of the tournament to give fans a “progressive approach optimized for mobile experience and social interaction”.

Teams were formed from both Raw and SmackDown‘s rosters, creating a “Team Red” and “Team Blue” narrative. The rules follow simple mixed match tag team standards: when tagged, a male opponent will face off against the opposite male opponent, and a female opponent will face off against the opposite female opponent.

The winners of the tournament will receive $100,000 to give to the charity of their choice, while the losers will receive $10,000 to give to a charity of their choice. The prizes truly stay in line with WWE’s love of giving time and effort to those who most need it.

The bracket with the scheduled line-up was released, and the matchups and fan-picked teams couldn’t be more unique. Let’s breakdown predictions for the winners of the first round of the Mixed Match Challenge.
