WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 3 Biggest Storylines
WWE.com
WWE Royal Rumble 2018 will kickoff the WWE’s pay-per-view schedule in 2018 with a bang on Sunday night with much hype and anticipation.
At WWE Royal Rumble 2018, there will be two Royal Rumble matches for the first time in WWE history, including the first-ever all-women’s Royal Rumble match. Those two matches are huge, but there are other important matches on the card.
Whether it’s the two Royal Rumble matches or the rest of the card, this pay-per-view features several key storylines. But which one’s stand out the most? Here are the three biggest storylines heading into WWE Royal Rumble 2018.
3. Can Brock Lesnar Overcome Braun Strowman’s Dominating Ways?
The Universal Championship will be at stake at the Royal Rumble in a Triple Threat Match between three of the most dominant superstars in the WWE. Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman, and Kane will battle it out for the top prize on Monday nights, but which superstar has the advantage?
Over the past few weeks, it can be argued that Strowman has looked the most impressive out of the three. Whether that means he’ll win the Universal Championship or not is anyone’s guess, but it has opened some people’s eyes to give him a chance to win the belt that Lesnar has owned since WrestleMania 33.
The Monster Among Men has taken out both Lesnar and Kane over the past few weeks, including this past Monday night where he left The Beast Incarnate laying ringside after being slammed through the announce table. Despite his impressive few weeks, many still believe Lesnar will once again retain his title.
It has been believed for months that Lesnar will defend his title against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, so that would definitely put the breaks on a potential Strowman win. It’s conceivable that he could win the title at the Royal Rumble and then lose it back to Lesnar at maybe Elimination Chamber, but the WWE might not go that far.
Regardless of what the WWE has planned, The Beast Incarnate has two monster challengers lined up that could derail his championship plans.
