On WWE Raw this week, a handful of superstars had a rough night. Who needs to find a way to bounce back?
As much as we’d all like to think everything is sunshine, roses, and kittens, sometimes people hit a rough patch. It’s no different for WWE superstars. Sometimes, they’re just in a funk. After WWE Raw this week, there’s a few superstars who fall into this category.
This isn’t to say there’s no hope for these particular superstars to come back to the promised land. It’s WWE – things can change in a heartbeat. But at the present, here are three superstars who are in need of a big boost in the coming weeks.
Matt Hardy
It’s been long enough since Hardy evolved into the WOKEN Warrior that we can judge the character thus far. I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, because it took a while for the initial Broken Matt Hardy to gain steam on Impact. But after several months, it’s clear that this iteration of the character is in seriously bad shape.
What exactly is Hardy’s end game here? After all this time, he’s still feuding with Bray Wyatt. While Wyatt is actively costing Hardy victories, the WOKEN Warrior is content to laugh backstage, and attack only when the match is done. If he wants retribution, he needs to be more assertive. The waiting around and watching on the monitor is honestly pretty lame.
Is Hardy in a holding pattern until Jeff returns from injury? If so, the unending feud with Wyatt makes little sense, since Bray is flying solo these days. Shouldn’t this waiting game involve all the players being set up?
It’s just time for Hardy to do something more interesting than laugh weirdly in a brightly lit backstage room. He doesn’t need to be a world champion or anything, but maybe a solid victory over someone who’s won a match in the last 15 years would be a nice start.
