ROH Honor Reigns Supreme: Tenille Dashwood Joins WOH Tournament

Tenille Dashwood, formerly known as Emma in WWE, will soon make the rounds in the professional wrestling world again, and she made a huge splash when she appeared at the ROH Honor Reigns Supreme “Free Per View” tonight.

ROH Wrestling is having a tournament to decide the first ever Women of Honor championship, and there is no shortage of impressive talent vying for the title. Deonna Purrazzo, Kelly Klein, and other big names are among the favorites to win, but it looks like the 16th competitor in the tournament is now the odds-on favorite.

Tonight at ROH Honor Reigns Supreme, Tenille Dashwood, who is most famous for being “Emma” in WWE, made an appearance. It was announced that she will be in the WOH Tournament for the WOH Championship.

Bully Ray “interrupted” Tenille’s introduction by stating that she needs to be in a match on her first night in Ring of Honor. She accepted and was put in a tag team match against Stacy Shadows and the dominant Kelly Klein. Her partner? The polarizing Mandy Leon.

Unsurprisingly, Tenille and Mandy picked up the victory with Brandi Rhodes low-key mirin’ Tenille from afar on the commentary team. Dashwood’s new finisher came out of nowhere, but she picked up the pinfall victory on Shadows, which was the expected result.

There wasn’t anything special about the match itself, other than the fact that Dashwood reminded the world that she’s on a different level than many of the competitors in WOH. She immediately elevates the star status of this tournament, and hopefully her hardcore following from WWE gives the ROH Women’s Division more eyes.

The Women of Honor deserve more attention, because they are, again, very talented. It will be exciting to see who faces Tenille in the tournament, because those will be must-watch matches. We do know that her first match will be against Shadows, whom she pinned tonight.

I think ROH should pick Purrazzo or somebody else who is a great wrestler and has been with the company for a long time as their first champ, but I could easily see them going with Tenille. She likely has the most drawing power, and her talent is undeniable. But we’ve seen promotions like Impact get criticized for immediately pushing talent from WWE, so that’s something to keep in mind.

It will also be interesting to see if Tenille is just here to be a star in the WOH tournament and push somebody else near the end of the tourney, if she will be a permanent fixture in ROH, or if she will even eventually sign with the promotion.
