Samoa Joe Could Miss WrestleMania, Removed from All WWE Live Events

Samoa Joe’s recently suffered injury could take him out of action until after WrestleMania, as WWE have removed him from all future live events until after ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’.

The ‘Samoan Submission Machine’ has recently been taken of all future WWE live events until after WrestleMania, according to a report released by Fightful.com’s Andrew Thompson.

Joe suffered the injury not long ago against Rhyno on the Jan. 8 edition of Monday Night Raw, injuring his right foot. At the time, the Royal Rumble event was nearing and Joe unfortunately knew he wasn’t going to be able to wrestle.

However, with Joe now taken off all WWE live events for the foreseeable future, it doesn’t look positive. Of course, this could just be WWE’s way of making sure Joe is completely ready to return; deciding not to book him on any shows, just to play it safe. In the above report, Thompson notes that Joe could still be ready for ‘Mania.

And by the sounds of it, Joe is trying to be positive about the injury. During an interview with Booker T on his ‘Heated Conversations’ podcast, which he did following the news of the injury, Joe said he’s taking a “week-to-week” approach.

"It’s kind of a week to week thing. With these injuries, sometimes they heal sooner, sometimes they heal later. They are going to do a little bit of an ultrasound, check it out every week. They’re going to be giving me treatments. It’s not something that can be fixed surgically, it’s basically a lot of time, rest and elevation and letting it heal. It just depends on how quick it heals. Hopefully, it will be sooner than later. Obviously, we’re going to be past the Rumble, but I don’t know how much further past that.”"

Samoa Joe is yet to feature in a WrestleMania match, missing out last year, even though he heavily featured in the Triple H and Seth Rollins feud, so hopefully his injury doesn’t keep him out for another few more months. At this moment in time, Joe has basically been written out of storyline, with, to my knowledge, no mention of him on commentary.
