Ivory is a Welcome Addition to the WWE Hall of Fame
By Sarah Hirsch
This week, WWE announced that Ivory will be a part of the Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
Any fan of the Attitude Era shouldn’t be the least surprised of the impending induction. While the likes of Sable and Trish Stratus lead the charge in the ever-evolving Women’s Division, Ivory was one who provided the balance of athleticism that was essential to its growth. Her spunky personality brought a breath of fresh air and something different to the table. That can be accredited to her past experience with GLOW.
Ivory not only could be the supporting role in the division, but she has been on top of the Women’s Division as well. She is a three-time Women’s Champion – an accolade that spoke volumes during the time she was with the company. In addition to paving the way for today’s women Superstars, Ivory was also able to evolve with her character. When she joined the controversial and conservative faction Right to Censor in 2000, it was a shocking moment that would prove to help Ivory in her WWE career.
Right to Censor was a rather underrated faction that also included such Superstars as The Godfather and Steven Richards. The faction was a stark contrast in all things that defined the Attitude Era. As the lone woman of Right to Censor, Ivory’s contributions were a huge deal to fans. It was during this time that Ivory would have a big feud with the late Chyna. Chyna eventually won the Women’s Championship from Ivory at WrestleMania X7.
Ivory faced many of the Women’s Division trailblazers. She faced off with Hall of Famers Jacqueline, Trish Stratus, and Lita in the six years she was with WWE. Ivory also took part in the first Women’s Hardcore match against Tori in 1999. While the Attitude Era was well known for the cheapening gimmick matches for the Women, Ivory was able to overcome the model stigma that plagued the company. While she has indeed participated in some of those matches, her accomplishments and legacy far surpasses those.
Other roles Ivory has taken part in in WWE was serving as a trainer in the second and third seasons of Tough Enough, and co-hosted the WWE Experience. Call her the jill of all trades, but Ivory’s contribution to the Women’s Division has a lasting impact beyond the surface.

Ivory will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 7, 2018, joining her fellow peers and trailblazers of the Women’s Division.
