Finn Balor Burns The Miz With ‘Sympathy Vote’ For Elimination Chamber

facebooktwitterreddit

Finn Balor will be one of seven men competing for an opportunity at Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship, and The Miz will be one of his opponents at the WWE Elimination Chamber 2018 pay per view. Prior to tomorrow night’s gauntlet match on Raw, Balor sent another insult at Miz.

Everything is on the line on Feb. 25 at the Elimination Chamber, as the winner of the men’s match will become the No. 1 contender for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship. The match against Lesnar for the championship will likely be the main event of WrestleMania 34, meaning Roman Reigns is the odds-on favorite to walk away from the seven-man chamber with a victory.

Finn Balor earned a spot in the match last week during a Fatal Five-Way on Raw, but the ending of that match was controversial. Both Seth Rollins and Balor pinned Bray Wyatt for the win, and Raw GM Kurt Angle decided to add an extra man to the Elimination Chamber match so that both Rollins and Balor would be able to compete for a shot at the title.

Although Balor and Rollins have some beef, Balor’s real feud right now seems to be with The Miz, based on the insults the two of them have traded on Twitter. While The Miz is one of the best talkers in WWE, Balor easily has the best Twitter game. Not convinced? Check out what he did to the Intercontinental Champion below.

Thanks to all of the great tweets these two have sent, I am very much #here for a rivalry between Balor and The Miz. The two of them have a little bit of history, because Balor did induct Miz into the “Finn Balor Just Kicked My Ass Club” during an episode of Miz TV at Payback last year. WWE never followed up on it, but perhaps they could reignite the rivalry in the Chamber, giving Balor a big match at WrestleMania. And maybe they throw Rollins in there, too.

But here’s what’s more interesting than Balor’s “sympathy vote”. If you look at the poll, Balor is in first place, and it isn’t even close. Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and John Cena all have loyal followings in the WWE Universe, yet Balor has more than double the second-place vote-getters percentage of votes.

This didn’t slip by Cageside Seats’s Gene Mrosko, who noted that Finn Balor is indeed “over”. And if the WWE Universe got its wish, he would “go over” at the Elimination Chamber.

We can still dream, right?
