The Feb. 19 edition of WWE Raw was one of the best Raw’s in a long time in terms of simply in-ring action as it dominated the airtime.
Last night’s WWE Raw did an outstanding job of showcasing in-ring competition and did an even better job of reestablishing one superstar as a legitimate threat on Monday nights.
The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view is less than a week away and will represent the red brand’s final pay-per-view stop on the road to WrestleMania. With that being said, let’s take a look at five key takeaways from the Feb. 19 edition of WWE Raw.
5. Nia Jax Being Built As Legitimate Threat To Asuka
For as dominant and impressive as Asuka has been since making her debut on the main roster a few months ago, it’s hard to imagine another Raw superstar being on her level of dominance. But over the past few weeks, Nia Jax has arguably been as impressive as Asuka has been.
She hasn’t had the best direction over the past several months, but Jax has been impressive as of late to the point where she could be Asuka’s biggest threat on Monday nights. And last night only helped further that sentiment as the two are set for an important battle at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
The two will battle at Elimination Chamber and if Jax defeats Asuka, she will be added to the championship match Asuka chooses at WrestleMania 34. But last night, as The Empress Of Tomorrow was being interviewed in the ring, she was attacked from behind by Jax. The Irresistible Force once again got the upper hand on Asuka and left her laying in the middle of the ring.
While it’s unlikely Jax will defeat Asuka at Elimination Chamber, her recent momentum could go a long way. And even if Asuka does win that match, it’s still conceivable that Jax could end up in the Raw Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania due to the fact that Asuka can go for either the Raw or SmackDown Women’s Championship.
The Irresistible Force is set to meet The Empress Of Tomorrow and the two should be able to leave a lasting impression on the WWE universe.
