NJPW Honor Rising To Set Up Big Young Bucks vs. Golden Lovers Match?

NJPW’s Honor Rising shows are only a few days away. The whole wrestling world is patiently waiting on the first match of the reunited Golden Lovers. During  the last few episodes of Being The Elite, there have been clues to an even bigger match for the Golden Lovers stemming from their Honor Rising Return.

A few weeks back NJPW released the card for Honor Rising on Feb. 23 and 24, 2018. On the first night night Ibushi and Kenny Omega team up with Chase Owens to take on Cody, “The Villian” Marty Scurll, and Hangman Page. If it wasn’t enough that Omega and Ibushi will be on the same team, on night two, The Golden Lovers reunite to take on Cody and Scurll in a tag match. The reunion of the Golden Lovers is very big for the NJPW faithful, who have been waiting on this for quite some time.

The Honor Rising events will give us a taste of what we can expect during a Bullet Club vs. Bullet Club match. This will be a good set up for the ROH/NJPW Supercard of Honor event where Cody and Kenny Omega battle for leadership of the Bullet Club.

The excitement of a Golden Lovers return – and the epic Supercard of Honor main event – has distracted fans from the missing piece of the puzzle. The Strong Style Evolved event in March is in between these two anticipated events with only one match announcement so far.

In my opinion, because of the way the return of the Golden Lovers is being publicized, I do not think it will be for only one match. I am going to come out and say I think this Honor Rising event is going to set up The Golden Lovers vs. The Young Bucks at Strong Style Evolved in Long Beach California on Mar. 25, 2018.

Fans of Omega and The Young Bucks who have been keeping up with their YouTube series Being The Elite have been given clues over the past four episodes to this very match at Strong Style Evolved. It starts at the end of Episode 90, which ends with Omega and Ibushi knocking on the door of room 710. They are answered by The Young Bucks.

This leads into the next few episodes where what is discussed in room 710 is not revealed, but the main event for Supercard of Honor is. The one thing I observed is not only in the flashbacks of the hotel room, but the number 710 appears as the highway The Young Bucks are driving on and is the highway that leads to Long Beach the same city Strong Style Evolved takes place in.

Now this could just be coincidence, but knowing how The Young Bucks like telling a story, I think I may be on to something here. I also have one other clue that leads me to this prediction. On the latest episode of Being The Elite, Cody seems to be trying to goad The Bucks into competing in the heavyweight division – the same division that  the newly reunited Golden Lovers will be competing in. The episode ends as a fight breaks out between Cody and Kenny in the locker room, where it appears one of The Bucks is hit by a garbage can as the video is ending.

These things combined leave me to believe that this match at Honor Rising is going to set up the dream tag match of The Young Bucks vs. The Golden Lovers at Strong Style Evolved. This would be a highly publicized contest for NJPW to bring to their only solo show in America announced this far. Either way Honor Rising is sure set up one of the final pieces of the puzzle when it comes to the internal struggle in the Bullet Club.
