Impact Wrestling 5 Takeaways: Allie Outsmarts Laurel Van Ness

Braxton Sutter’s Sour Return
Tonight’s X-Division spotlight features the returning Braxton Sutter and El Hijo de Fantasma. These are two of the brightest stars in the X-Division but Sutter has been away from Impact for a couple of months. Sutter’s gameplan early was to slow down the pace of Fantasma.
A chinlock and some of his striking offense gives him the early advantage. It was the striking ability of Fantasma that allows him to fight back. He would quicken the pace with his arrow suicide dive on Sutter. This match would show a different attitude to Sutter.
Sutter used the ropes to try and gain an advantage midway through this match but it doesn’t matter. He also tried to pull the tights of Fantasma but it would all be for not. Sutter would eventually fall victim to the Thrill of the Hunt. After the match, Braxton Sutter would claim that Allie ruins lives and that he’s the biggest star that Impact fans had ever seen. He was interrupted by Brian Cage who met him with a strong clothesline. Cage would leave Sutter laying in the middle of the ring after the Drill Claw.
He’d make an appearance later in the show, unsuccessfully trying to “object” to Laurel Van Ness’s marriage proposition (to her Knockouts Championship).
