4. Ruby Riott vs. Charlotte Flair (c) at Fastlane 2018

Fastlane PPV generally never boasted a good match from the Women’s division. Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax was one of the notable matches featuring the division. However, when you’re ranking the best wrestling matches from the PPV it doesn’t rank up that high. However, two women were determined to change that trend last night.

Charlotte Flair defended her SmackDown Women’s title against the leader of the Riott Squad, Ruby Riott. The feud lacked spark until the go-home edition where Riott not only explained her motives, but the motives behind the formation of the Riott Squad as well. It played nicely into their rivalry. These two women are perhaps the best that SmackDown Live has to offer at the moment. As such, there was no lack of quality as far as in-ring action was concerned.

The match, though suffered from interference and outside play a couple of times, was entertaining nonetheless. Flair has a level of charisma that is unmatched in the WWE and Riott complemented it in her own way at every turn. Their styles meshed well and the result was perhaps the best women’s division match in Fastlane history.

There was hardly any doubt about the outcome of the match. However, Riott made the most out of her opportunity and delivered a star-making performance, ensuring the fans would remember her name even in loss. The match also saw a surprise appearance from Asuka which boosts its significance.
