The March 12 edition of WWE Raw might have lacked in standout moments at times, but it did successfully continue the development of key feuds heading into WrestleMania 34.
Last night’s WWE Raw helped further the buildup towards WrestleMania 34 and gave some big insight on what certain superstars will be doing on the grandest stage of them all in just under four weeks.
Hopefully the storylines will continue to improve and heat up in the weeks to follow, but up to this point, they have been pretty solid as a whole. With that being said, let’s take a look at five takeaways from the March 12 edition of WWE Raw.
5. The Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal A Welcomed Addition To WrestleMania 34
Women’s wrestling in the WWE has been going through a tremendous metamorphosis over the past year to two years. Women are getting opportunities they have never gotten before and that trend will carry over into this year’s WrestleMania.
There could be as many as five matches with women’s competitors involved, but one match that was announced last night is a perfect solution to try and get every deserved woman on the card at the granddaddy of them all. The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal has been a hit or miss match so far over the past three WrestleMania’s, and this year the women will get their own chance at a battle royal.
For the first time, The Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal will take place at WrestleMania 34 in just under four weeks. This is a perfect move to allow the women on the roster that won’t be in singles or tag matches a spot on the card and continues the women’s evolution and what it stands for.
There will be a Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship match, the mixed tag team match featuring Ronda Rousey, and potentially Sasha Banks vs. Bayley, so this battle royal could provide five women-based matches at WrestleMania 34. It seems likely the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal will be moved to the kickoff show to make room for The Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal because it deserves as many eyes seeing it as possible given how it’s a first-time match.
The women’s evolution is advancing more and more all the time, so it only makes sense to add a battle royal of significance to women on the grandest stage of them all.
