WWE WrestleMania 34: How Carmella Should Cash In

facebooktwitterreddit

Last year, Carmella made history by becoming the first woman to ever win a WWE Money In The Bank briefcase. Since then, she hasn’t done much with it since.

Carmella has barely been featured on WWE programming in the past few months, other than her participation in the Mixed Match Challenge.

It is ironic considering the position she is in right now. There is no reason at the moment why she has been kept off, however she has been appearing more lately on SmackDown Live.

Although she has been kept off SmackDown live as of late, this could be building towards something big for the Staten Island Princess.

Generally whenever someone wins the Money in the Bank contract, they have a year to cash it in. Carmella, having won it last summer, still has plenty of time to go. But before we know it, the next Money in the Bank match will be here. So she’ll have to cash in soon.

But how soon? And how can her cash in, the first ever women’s cash in, make an impact in WWE? To do that, there’s only one place to do so, at WrestleMania.

Now, currently, Carmella is featured on SmackDown Live programming. However, that doesn’t mean she can only cash in on the SmackDown women’s champion, who at this time is Charlotte Flair.

Much like Royal Rumble winner, Asuka, Carmella has a choice between championships on both Raw and SmackDown. And while the idea has never been brought up, it may be better for her to cash in for the Raw Women’s title instead.

Right now, the current WrestleMania match for the SmackDown Women’s title is set to be Asuka vs Charlotte Flair. This in itself is a dream match simply because of the talent that these two competitors have. While Carmella is undoubtedly talented, her cashing in would only take away from the moment. It wouldn’t really fit.

Not only that, but depending on the winner, it wouldn’t work out in the long run. If Asuka were to win, and Carmella cashed in and won, Asuka’s streak would be broken. Happening at WrestleMania, it would be a huge moment, but it shouldn’t, simply because it’s Carmella.

Again, Carmella is extremely talented. But with the lack of her being on TV, as well as Asuka being immensely better than her, it wouldn’t sit well. WWE would never be able to take it back. And though Carmella would undoubtedly make history in the process, she is most likely not who WWE wants to break that record.

But on the Raw side of things, that works a lot more for her. For one, it would be something that would come out of nowhere. Not only that, but it would allow for some new matches that fans have yet to see.

WWE will most likely be shifting superstars around sometime after WrestleMania. While it isn’t a direct switch like the Draft or the Superstar Shake Up, it would be a refreshing switch nonetheless.

So how would WWE go about doing this cash in? Well, of course it would happen at WrestleMania. However right now, there is no official match for the Raw Women’s title yet. More than likely, it will end up being Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax, based on the current buildup.

Depending on who wins, the cash in can happen a few specific ways. But whoever wins, Carmella should run in out of nowhere and take out the winner with her briefcase. After pummeling said winner with the briefcase, she cashes in and pins the champion, winning the championship.

From there, Carmella can feud with either one of them for the summer, where the blow off can happen at SummerSlam. If it were Nia to get pinned, something that would be interesting to see is right after the referee hits a third time, she kicks out, but by then, it’s too late. Carmella realizes what is about to happen, and immediately flees the ring with the title. It would even work this way considering the babyface push Nia has been seeming to get lately.

But regardless of who she cashes in on, Carmella needs to have her WrestleMania moment this year. And the only way she can do that is by cashing in and winning on the Grandest Stage. Carmella is at the point where she can be a really good champion, and earn some real heel heat. The question now is will WWE pull the trigger?
