Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns keep upping the ante every week ahead of their clash for the Universal Championship at WWE WrestleMania 34. Following Lesnar’s latest beatdown of Reigns, Paul Heyman took to Twitter to send Reigns a forceful message.
When Roman Reigns pinned Braun Strowman to win the Elimination Chamber match last month, his path to WrestleMania 34 was set. At the show of shows – and presumably in the main event for the fourth straight time – Reigns will get his second chance at Brock Lesnar without any distractions from a certain “Planner of Structures” (channeling my inner “Wokenness” here).
Since winning the Elimination Chamber match to become the No. 1 contender to Lesnar’s Universal Title, Reigns has made it clear that he takes umbrage with Lesnar’s contempt for professional wrestling and its fans. Lesnar no-showed two episodes of Raw, and it led to Reigns confronting Vince McMahon backstage before being slapped with a temporary suspension.
Despite the suspension, Reigns predictably showed up, tossed around some “marshals”, and then got hit with an F5 by Lesnar.
Last week, Lesnar beat an injured Reigns to the ground even harder, further asserting that Reigns will once again be the underdog in the build to this. An underdog who defeated Triple H and The Undertaker in the main events of WrestleMania in back-to-back years. But an underdog nonetheless.
Paul Heyman has done his best to play into Lesnar’s remorseless character by continually berating Reigns verbally. He’s been putting over Lesnar as a Beast who can never be “conquered”, and he took to Twitter to let Reigns know that you don’t “F” with The Beast Incarnate.
DISCRETION is, indeed, the better part of valor. Or, in other words, DON'T F WITH @BrockLesnar. Lesson learned yet., @WWE @WWERomanReigns? The beatings only get worse and worse, with the worst one being Sun April 8th at @WrestleMania! https://t.co/qH7bY3FTG1

I know fans like to lampoon predictability in WWE, but sometimes it’s good to have a predictable storyline that’s executed fairly well and is sensible. This is one of those cases, and I love what Heyman’s done on social media to hype up this match. It’s added another dynamic, and it will be interesting to see how much worse the beatings get for Reigns. Because Lesnar hasn’t held anything back. Like, he hit Reigns with an F5 on the steel steps. On the steel steps!

Lesnar is one heartless animal, and his evil drummer boy, Paul Heyman, is just as cruel. For many (but admittedly, not all) fans, that will make Reigns’s victory at WrestleMania seem even sweeter, and it will be the Big Dog’s first time holding the Universal Title after never taking it off of Kevin Owens (and unofficial co-champion Chris Jericho).
