Triple H Unveils The North American Championship And It’s Gorgeous
At WWE NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, the first ever North American Champion will be crowned, and the winner will be able to start this title’s legacy on NXT, perhaps vaulting it to the level of prestige that the United Kingdom Championship has enjoyed under the reigns of Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne.
WWE WrestleMania 34 will take place on Sunday in New Orleans, but one night before the “Show of Shows” begins, Triple H’s baby gets its chance to steal the show. Last year, NXT TakeOver was arguably better than WrestleMania 33, and it seems like these TakeOver specials regularly steal the hearts of the WWE Universe every weekend they are paired with a Big 4 Pay Per View.
This weekend, NXT TakeOver will have its work cut out, because the WrestleMania 34 card is one of the most stacked in recent memory. It will feature Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, Charlotte vs. Asuka, Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles, Ronda Rousey, and potentially a dream bout between John Cena and the Undertaker.
TakeOver, however, isn’t without its own dream matches. Shayna Baszler and Ember Moon will likely surpass the effort they put together last time out at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia for the NXT Women’s Championship, Aleister Black vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas will almost certainly produce a fantastic main event, and we have a ladder match to decide the first North American Champion.
Last week on NXT TV, William Regal announced that the six competitors in the match for the newly minted North American Championship. Killian Dain, Lars Sullivan, Undisputed Era leader Adam Cole, the Velveteen Dream, and newcomers EC3 and Ricochet will all shine in this highly anticipated match.
Today on his Twitter account, Triple H has unveiled the title and hyped up this match even further. The title itself looks incredibly sweet, and I love the rustic color. This belt looks classy as hell, and, well, I’d go nuts if any of these men held it. I mean, I can’t tell you who I’d like to see hold this title the most, because all six men are perfectly capable of doing a brilliant job with this title.

But man, it would be something if the Velveteen Dream held it, especially after the work he’s put in. His feud with Black last year was one of the best rivalries we’ve seen in WWE.
I can’t get over how gorgeous that title looks.
