WWE Rumors: Is Alicia Fox Ready To Return At WrestleMania 34?

Since January, Alicia Fox has been out of action due to a tailbone injury. Could she make her return to the ring at WWE WrestleMania 34?

Over the past year, the WWE Universe’s pleas for a women’s singles match at WrestleMania grew louder and louder, and the WWE has finally obliged, with both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship matches at WrestleMania 34 being singles matches. Charlotte Flair will defend her title against an undefeated Asuka in what amounts to a dream match, and Nia Jax will get a chance to silence her bully by taking the Raw Women’s Title off of Alexa Bliss.

Before those two matches take place on the WrestleMania card, the rest of the women will compete in the first WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal. This is akin to the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal for the men, which has gone on for years.

Although it’s hard for individuals to shine in a Battle Royal, it’s still a chance for these women to compete. These Battle Royals are especially important opportunities for wrestlers who aren’t as high on the card, such as Alicia Fox.

According to Casey Michael of SquaredCircleSirens.com, Fox is on her way to New Orleans, which is the center of WrestleMania 34. That is an indication that Fox could be competing in the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal. PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson reported yesterday that Fox was among the wrestlers backstage in Atlanta for Monday Night Raw, and while she didn’t appear on the screen, the fact that she was backstage is a positive sign indeed.

Fox was supposed to compete in the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble, and it was a travesty that her broken tailbone prevented her from competing. It was as if the rug was pulled out from under her, and she surely would have been an entertaining addition to the match, given her experience and current “crazy” gimmick.

I truly hope we get to see Fox at this WrestleMania Battle Royal, because she can add a lot to this match. It’s also always nice to see veterans of the business like her in a big spot, because her work has helped women’s wrestling in the WWE (and beyond) get to where it is today.

After all, Fox is a former Divas Champion, the owner of one of the prettiest Northern Light Suplexes in the business, and a damn good character. Let’s hope we get to see her out there on Sunday, and let’s also hope that she gets a chance to make up for the fact that she was unable to compete in the Royal Rumble.
