WWE Rumors: Several Title Changes Expected At WrestleMania 34

WWE WrestleMania 34 contains one of the most stacked cards in recent memory, and some fans are wondering if this could be the greatest ‘Mania of all time. On top of that, it appears that several titles could be changing hands, adding to the excitement that WrestleMania always brings.

In today’s “Rumor Roundup” on Cageside Seats, there’s a note that “multiple” title changes are expected at WrestleMania 34, and perhaps five titles could end up trading places.

So let’s count which titles are probably going to change hands. Firstly, it’s essentially an inevitability that the Universal Championship will be taken off of Brock Lesnar by Roman Reigns, who has been portrayed as the underdog every step of the way during this feud. That makes plenty of sense, and it makes even more sense for Reigns to conquer The Beast Incarnate on Sunday. It’s the right way to end the story, and Lesnar’s year-long reign must come to a close.

It would also be upsetting if Nia Jax did not win the Raw Women’s Championship. Alexa Bliss has held onto the title for several months, and she’s never gotten her comeuppance. Her heel tactics have crossed the line recently, as she’s been body-shaming and bullying Nia. Bliss already had her crowning moment at the Elimination Chamber, and it is imperative that Nia wins, especially since this would be a sweet moment for her. Jax has yet to win a Women’s Title despite being billed as incredibly dominant, so taking the title at ‘Mania off of a bully would be ideal.

The third likely title change is the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Charlotte Flair has also held the title for several months, and while she is a babyface, she hasn’t exactly defended the title every night either. Meanwhile, Asuka is undefeated, and Carmella looms in the background with her Money in the Bank briefcase. Something has got to give, and I don’t think it’s the right time for Asuka to lose her streak.

Elsewhere, the Raw Tag Team Titles, SmackDown Tag Team Titles, Intercontinental Championship, WWE Championship, and United States Championship are on the line. Out of all of them, the IC Title and WWE Championship have the most predicted title changes.

Many expect Shinsuke Nakamura to take the title off of AJ Styles after winning the Royal Rumble and having never held the title before. Styles has been the champion since November, and he could drop the title to move to Raw.

As for the IC Title, The Miz just had a child, so he may need some time off. Either Finn Balor or Seth Rollins would make sense as champions. This would be Rollins’s first IC Title, and he would become a Grand Slam champ just months after Roman Reigns did. As for Balor, he hasn’t held gold since dropping the Universal Championship in 2016 due to an injury, and this could be an important way for the WWE to evaluate him further as a night-in, night-out champion.

In summation, if there are five title changes, I would expect them to be the Universal Title, the Raw Women’s Championship, the SmackDown Women’s Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, and either the WWE Championship or the Raw Tag Team Titles.

This rumor makes plenty of sense to me, so be prepared for a wild ride and several title changes come Sunday night. We’re all in for a treat.
