4. The Usos vs. The New Day
One of the best tag team feuds the WWE has ever seen dominated the SmackDown Tag Team Championship picture last year. And last night, the teams squared off again, but this time to determine the number one contenders for the tag team titles.
The Usos and The New Day were two teams battling for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 34, but The Bludgeon Brothers won the titles and ended The Usos’ reign. Last night saw arguably the WWE’s top rivalry renewed when The Usos battled The New Day with the winners going on to face The Bludgeon Brothers for the titles at the Greatest Royal Rumble event.
Much like their previous matches, this match was very solid. The action was tremendous despite the match not getting an overabundance of time and saw both teams pull out all the stops to earn a right to challenge for the tag team titles. It went back and forth for a while, but in the end, The Usos got the win and will challenge The Bludgeon Brothers for the tag team titles.
It seemed a bit strange that The Usos didn’t get an automatic rematch considering every title change does that, but when it results in seeing The Usos vs. The New Day, it’s never a bad thing. These teams have a special chemistry and it never gets old seeing them battle it out at the highest level of tag team wrestling.
The rivalry was renewed and it resulted in a very good match even if the match didn’t get a great amount of time.
