WWE 205 Live: Results, Grades and Analysis for April 17th
By Liam Hoofe
With everyone’s eyes on the Superstar Shake-Up, 205 Live made some changes of their own on this week’s show.
While 205 Live has not been a part of the superstar shake-up, the show has been having its own type of shake-up in the last few months, as it continues to redefine itself as one of the company’s most exciting hours of television.
An argument could be made that the brand should have been a part of the shake-up and that stars like Chad Gable may have been able to find a new home there, but the show is just starting to find its own rhythm, and changes may disrupt that.
After the success of the Cruiserweight Championship tournament, the show is now starting to sort out its structure and where each superstar fits on the brand. The continued focus on tag-team wrestling dominated this week’s show, with two tag matches taking place, one of which was the show’s main event.
There was also a surprising announcement from GM Drake Maverick concerning the Cruiserweight Championship match at next Friday’s The Greatest Royal Rumble Event. Cruiserweight champion, Cedric Alexander was absent from this week’s show, but he will definitely be wanting to pay attention to next week’s show.
What was the announcement, I hear you ask? Let’s take a look all of the action from this week’s 205 Live.
