Kurt Angle left one final addition to WWE Raw unannounced until the five-on-five tag team main event, and the fifth member of the babyface team was none other than former United States Champion Bobby Roode. To reach his potential in WWE and make the most out of his move to Monday nights, Roode must be turned heel.

Bobby Roode is one of the superstars who could benefit the most from the 2018 Superstar Shakeup, because his trade from SmackDown Live to WWE Raw could make him one of the biggest pieces on the flagship show. Although Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, Dean Ambrose, Finn Balor, and Bobby Lashley are big names on the show, Roode should be able to find his spot in no time.

In order to do this, Roode needs to turn heel. In NXT, Roode became the brand’s main title-holder on the strength of his character work as a heel. He was arrogant, obnoxious, and dastardly, and Roode had two very good rivalries with Shinsuke Nakamura and Roderick Strong.

But when Roode was called up to SmackDown Live, he debuted as a babyface to feud with Dolph Ziggler. Roode, unfortunately, was boring, and it was difficult for the audience to either get behind him or buy into what he was saying. Roode would often merely repeat his catchphrases, and his matches with the likes of Randy Orton and Jinder Mahal were average at best.

Here are three reasons why Roode needs to turn heel on the Raw roster, and hopefully this change comes sooner rather than later.
