The Superstar Shakeup made its way to WWE SmackDown Live tonight. Suffice it to say, Raw better watch out.

The April 17th edition of WWE SmackDown Live was an extremely promising start to a year of programming for the blue brand. As always, there were those who excelled and those who came up short. However, we really were in for a treat as WWE used tonight to build one of the most intriguing SmackDown rosters in recent memory. Old feuds were reignited, new possibilities opened up, and the low blows continued on a jam packed episode.

Winner: The Tag Team Division

As the Superstar Shakeup continued Tuesday night, the one area where there were not many questions was the tag team division. Monday’s Raw did not see much in the way of tag team additions to the red brand. Therefore, it would not be much of a shock to see either an NXT call-up or maybe one trade on Tuesday. Instead,  WWE threw a massive curveball in the form of three quality tag team additions. Besides the regular top level players like the New Day, Bludgeon Brothers, and the Usos, SmackDown added SAnitY, the Bar, and the Club.

On SmackDown, there is a now loaded division with current champions the Bludgeon Brothers, three former WWE Tag Champions, one former IWGP Tag Team Champion team, and one former NXT Tag Champion team. To say the least, this division is stacked with teams that all know how to succeed. Going forward, it is going to be fascinating to see how WWE creative handles such a strong tag team division as they normally try to keep these groups separate. Tag team wrestling is going to be a huge strength for Tuesday nights. This is extremely promising.
