With Ember Moon elevated to the WWE main roster, who can we expect to challenge new WWE NXT Women’s Champion, Shayna Baszler?

On September 26th, 2015, former mixed martial artist, Shayna Baszler, a long time avid wrestling fan, made her professional debut on the independent circuit. And although she would lose that match to one of the most underrated female wrestlers on earth, Cheerleader Melissa, she proved very quickly that she had the goods to compete at any level in the wrestling industry.

Over the course of nearly two years “The Queen of Spades” would go on to win five regional titles on the indy circuit, along the way facing names like Heidi Lovelace(now Ruby Riott), Mia Yim, Io Shirai, Toni Storm, and Veda Scott, essentially the who’s who of the indy scene.

In July of last year Baszler was announced as a participant in the Mae Young Classic and after running through her first three opponents, she came up just short to tournament winner, Kairi Sane. But her performance in The Classic apparently turned many heads, as just less than three months later she was officially signed to a WWE contract. And just about six months after that, she currently holds the WWE NXT Women’s Championship after choking Ember Moon unconscious at TakeOver: New Orleans.

For Baszler’s next opponent, smart money would’ve been on a rematch with Moon. But that idea went out the window when “The War Goddess” was elevated to the main roster the night after WrestleMania.

So after a dominant two and a half years since becoming a pro wrestler, Baszler awaits for a contender to emerge from the ranks. And who could that contender be?
