Loser: Baron Corbin

There was a time when Baron Corbin looked legitimately on his way to being a world title contender. Debuting on the main roster at WrestleMania 32 and winning The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, his first win was considered a major achievement. He then spent the majority of the rest of 2016 dominating every feud he got into and picked up pay per view wins Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, and Kalisto. This led him into the world title picture where although unsuccessful, proved he belonged with the who’s who of the Smackdown roster. The following Summer he won the Money In The Bank Briefcase but got a bit unlucky with it.

But after that disappointment, Corbin would ultimately capture his first championship in the WWE when won the U.S. title from AJ Styles. And although his reign would be a short one, “The Lone Wolf” seemingly had made his mark especially when you consider his impressive win over The Miz at Survivor Series in an inter-brand champion versus champion match. Corbin even looked to be turning face as his days on the blue brand dwindled down and when it was announced that he had been drafted to RAW, it appeared Monday nights had reeled in another a potential world title contender.

So, how would Corbin open his red brand tenure? Maybe a run at Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental title? Maybe drum a feud with old NXT foe Bobby Roode? Or how about Finn Balor? “The Demon” eliminated Corbin from the Royal Rumble which prompted an attack from “The Lone Wolf”. That could be fun. However, Corbin has staggeringly drawn the card of welcoming No Way Jose, a guy who looks like he might be the new Adam Rose on the main roster. What a let down.

Now it may be easier to say that No Way Jose was the loser from Monday night after taking the beat down from Corbin. But from what we’re expecting of the former U.S. champ, his usage Monday night was nothing short of disappointing.
