WWE SmackDown Live: Big Cass Makes A Statement

Big Cass returned to WWE SmackDown Live a week ago and he already shown he is a top-level star and you can’t teach that.

Big Cass was in the midst of a singles push in the WWE after splitting up with Enzo when an ill-timed ACL injury took him out. Last week on WWE SmackDown Live, the seven-footer made his return, wasting no time in making a statement. Cass would straight away target Daniel Bryan and had many of us, including me wonder whether he was working for the Miz.

This week, Cass would return to TV, interrupting an edition of Miz TV, to add fuel to our speculations. The suit-wearing, corporate looking version of Big Cass was something we are yet to see in the WWE and frankly, the big man seems rejuvenated by the act. It was evident from the fiery promo he delivered afterwords.

While the contents of the promo, and the story that it told might raise some eyebrows, the way it was delivered is nothing short of spectacular. Cass was oozing with charisma and he seemed to genuinely believe every word he was speaking. He even got the minute actions right and that added further spice to an already perfectly mixed segment. The slight ‘Yes’ chants he used in the end to mock Bryan? Gold!

Despite his superior size and prototypical WWE mega star looks, Cass was beginning to struggle in the lower tiers of the mid-card before being injured. Even after getting the upper hand against Enzo and the Big Show, the future looked uncertain for Cass. However, that does not seem like the case anymore.

The big man is scheduled to face Daniel Bryan at the upcoming Backlash PPV. It could be possible that Cass picks up the biggest win of his career by defeating Bryan, with a little help from the Miz, to keep their feud going. Bryan and Miz could continue with their feud from then on while Cass moves on to bigger and better things.

It is quite possible that he could soon challenge for the United States title. Being in the hunt for the mid-card title will allow Cass to work with the likes of Randy Orton and Shelton Benjamin and even the current champion, Jeff Hardy. Whatever happens from now on, Cass just made the case for himself to be a mega star on Tuesday nights going forward. Big Cass has got the size, the looks and the charisma, and you can’t teach that!
