Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: We’re Just Living In Brian Cage’s World
6. Eli Drake- Impact World Tag Team Champion
Whenever Scott Steiner is on the microphone, I’m either crying my eyes out laughing or cringing so hard that I’m worried my face will perpetually look like I’ve stepped on a Lego.
But honestly, it’s worth it, because the combination of Steiner and Eli Drake is just so outrageous that it never ceases to amaze. Of the two of them, of course, I prefer Drake, whose ability to command the crowd on the stick is unparalleled in Impact Wrestling now that EC3 has made his way to NXT. Drake is one of wrestling’s most eloquent talkers, and he’s also been quite savvy in the ring during his feud with LAX.
And oh yeah, he has a guaranteed World Title shot tucked away with no indications on when he’ll use it. Now that’s something that always intrigues me.
5. Austin Aries- Impact Grand Champion
It might seem like I’ve ranked Austin Aries too low here, but he’s primed to climb up this list if he has indeed become an arrogant heel. That’s the character that fits him the best, and it’s what will make the audience react far more to his promos. Aries remains the Impact Grand Champion after dropping the World Title to Pentagon Jr., and he has a chance to help increase the prestige of his current title.
