WWE Raw: What Is Next For Braun Strowman?

Braun Strowman is easily one of WWE’s biggest stars, yet he keeps finding himself with no creative direction.

The former Wyatt Family member has surpassed all expectations ever since beginning his singles run. From destroying Roman Reigns, to flipping ambulances, to tossing grappling hooks, to playing a cello like a guitar, Braun Strowman consistently evolves and is now arguably WWE’s top commodity.

So, you would think WWE would have big things in store for their Monster Among Men, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Going into WrestleMania 34, Strowman was the most over guy on Raw, but he was an afterthought when the card was being put together.

He was just thrown into the tag team championship match simply because they didn’t have room for him to have a singles feud or a singles title match. Of course, Strowman being great, he was able to turn that match into a memorable moment and won the belts with 10 year old Nicholas.

Their reign atop the mountain didn’t last long, though, because the duo had to relinquish the titles due to scheduling conflicts like, you know, school. So, Braun is once again a singles competitor but has yet to be involved in any storylines ever since WrestleMania.

Backlash is coming up this Sunday, and Strowman doesn’t have a match or even a storyline set up yet. Hopefully, his big win at Saudi Arabia’s Greatest Royal Rumble will spark up a feud with someone on the roster.

There is no way that WWE is going to leave Braun off the Backlash match card, so someone is definitely going to Get These Hands. The only question is who (who? who? who? who?)?

There are a couple different options for the Monster Among Men. He can rekindle his pre-WrestleMania feud with Elias and finally finish him off at Backlash, or he and Bobby Lashley can face off against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn once again. This way, returning Lashley gets a rub while getting four top guys on the card.

Another option would be a feud between Lashley and Braun. This could stem from the Greatest Royal Rumble where Lashley is jealous and believes he is the best big man on the roster. Of course, this would likely mean we’d see Lashley win and/or turn heel, so I don’t think these two will cross paths just yet.

So, no matter how you cut it, Braun will once again take part in another throwaway PPV match, but this needs to be his last. Braun has done everything possible outside of the world title picture, and now it is time for him to get involved once again.

Braun had a great rivalry with Roman before, so that could be reignited after (if) Reigns wins the Universal Championship. This feud would work out well if Roman ends up turning heel out of desperation to defeat Brock because it would add a fresh new layer to this storied rivalry.

If Roman, however, fails to dethrone Brock, Braun Strowman NEEDS to be the one to accomplish the task. After getting pinned by Lesnar clean in less than ten minutes, Strowman needs redemption to prove that The Beast is no math for The Monster.

No matter how you slice it, it’s time for WWE to stop messing around with Braun Strowman and get the strap on him in 2018.
