8: Ricochet

While he may have only taken part in two matches during April, there are few men who have arrived with the same level of hype as Ricochet.

The former NJPW star made his on-screen debut when he interrupted the end of the Lars Sullivan Vs Killian Dain bout on April 4th, and received a mega pop from the audience in attendance. He then went on to steal the show in the North American Championship match at Takeover: New Orleans, wowing the audience with his incredible feats of athleticism.

He then defeated Fabian Aichner in an impressive outing on the April 18th edition of the show. He looks set to go one on one with Velveteen Dream at the next Takeover event in what promises to be one hell of a match.

7: Roderick Strong

What an interesting month it has been for Roderick Strong. On the April 4th edition of NXT, Strong partnered up with Pete Dunne to take on The Authors of Pain in the final of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Classic. Three days later, Strong would turn on his partner and align himself with The Undisputed Era, costing himself and Dunne the tag team titles, and the Dusty Rhodes trophy in the process.

Strong’s heel turn has provided a new dimension to his character, and on the final NXT of the month, he explained that he was sick of being one man against the world and that he had found companions in The Undisputed Era.

Strong was also carrying the NXT tag team titles on NXT this past week, which would imply that he will be defending the belts under the free-bird rule until Bobby Fish is ready to compete again. Strong looks set to feud with Pete Dunne over the next month or so, and given the ability both men have shown in the ring, it is definitely going to be something worth tuning into.
