2. Roman Reigns Keeps Door Open For Future Rematch With Brock Lesnar
It seemed obvious for months that Roman Reigns would dethrone Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34. But when that didn’t happen, fans were shocked and wondered what the WWE had up its sleeve moving forward.
As it turned out, it wouldn’t take long for Reigns to get another shot at the Universal Championship when he challenged Lesnar at the Greatest Royal Rumble event inside a steel cage. Certainly, he would win this time, right? Not exactly. After a controversial ending, Lesnar walked away yet again with the Universal Championship.
But that controversy has opened up the door for another potential championship match between the two and The Big Dog made his intention clear to open up last night’s show. Reigns said he should be the Universal Champion and he believes he is the true champion because his feet did hit the floor first in his steel cage match with Lesnar. Shenanigans broke out from this promo, but the message of the promo is the focal point here.
Most superstars don’t get three chances to beat the same person after losing the first two times, but this time around, it seems likely Reigns will be an exception eventually. He technically won the match, so that’s all the ammunition necessary to elevate Reigns back into the Universal Championship picture soon enough again.
The Beast Incarnate emerged with his title by the skin of his teeth, but The Big Dog seems far from done with Lesnar moving forward.
