Xavier Woods vs. Sheamus

Before this match, Asuka, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch have an AWESOME backstage segment, wherein Becky gets upset at her loss to the IIconics last week in a tag match with Asuka. She feels bad for causing Asuka to take an L in her first match on SmackDown Live. Asuka says she doesn’t care and just wants to focus on their match tonight against Carmella and the IIconics.

Oh, and she said “Avengers Assemble!” to Charlotte and Becky. So good.

Sheamus emphasized the size advantage early on by rag-dolling Xavier Woods, and Corey Graves brought up that Big E vs. Sheamus may have been a more interesting match given the comparable sizes of both.

Cesaro literally distracted Xavier by having pancakes glued to the inside of his jacket. Incredible. Oh, and he did the Ric Flair strut, too.

It was all for naught, because Xavier Woods defeated Sheamus with a surprise roll-up, which was a brilliant decision. It really kicks off this The Bar vs. The New Day feud perfectly, and it will be interesting to see how Sheamus and Cesaro respond to this surprise loss. After all, Sheamus was the one who called out Xavier for a match, possibly because he thought he’d win due to the size advantage.
