The first night of NJPW Wrestling Dontaku is here, as it’s a war within the Bullet Club.

The main event of the show features Kenny Omega vs. Hangman Page, and Kota Ibushi vs. Cody Rhodes, as the civil war of NJPW continues. This show marks 5th Anniversary of the Bullet Club, but they are at war.

Yota Tsuji & Shota Umino vs. The Bullet Club (Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi)

The new crop of young lions are looking very promising, as Umino is the veteran of the group here, with Tsuji learning from him and the two Bullet Club members. Chase Owens got the win after a few minutes.

Result: The Bullet Club

Rating: 2 stars out of 5

Ren Narita, Tomoyuki Oka, & Yuji Nagata vs. Rysuke Taguchi, Tiger Mask IV, & Jushin Thunder Liger

This was more of the standard tag, but with guys like Liger in it, it was quite fun. Taguchi got the pinfall after a few minutes, and Taguchi Japan celebrated in the ring.

Result: Taguchi Japan

Rating: 2 stars out of 5

Roppongi 3k (SHO, YOH, Rocky Romero) vs. Suzuki-gun (Iizuka, Davey Boy Smith Jr., & Lance Archer)

This started wild, as Suzuki-gun brawled all around ringside, but as soon as it went back into the ring, there was a roll up and RPG 3K wins! That was quick!

Result: RPG 3K

Toa Henare, Michael Elgin, Togi Makabe, David Finlay, & Juice Robinson vs. CHAOS (YOSHI-HASHI, Toru Yano, Tomohiro Ishii, Jay White, & Hirooki Goto)

Yano very quickly took the turnbuckle pad off and David Finlay was constantly tortured by being slammed into it. The early portions of this match saw two angry men, Ishii and Makabe, hitting each other very hard. Henare and White had some awesome exchanges in this match, and it furthers my opinion that Henare is going to be a huge star.

Jay White is very quickly coming into his own, and this match was a huge highlight of his ability. White is truly improving and moving up card rapidly, and it’s quite interesting to see. The end of the match came after White hit a flatliner, a deadlift German suplex, and a Blade Runner!

Result: CHAOS

Rating: 2.75 stars out of 5
