4. Charlotte Flair vs. Peyton Royce

Charlotte Flair has been at the forefront of the women’s evolution over the past several years.  She has been part of some of the most memorable women’s matches of all-time and was part of the first-ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match last year as well.

Last night saw The Queen get another shot at participating in a Money in the Bank ladder match when she took on Peyton Royce of The IIconics, a duo that has been a major thorn in Charlotte’s side in recent weeks since their debut on the main roster.  Royce seemed like she had a chance to pull off the upset and as the match progressed, it started looking more likely.

Royce had a few close near falls that made you think she had Charlotte beat, but The Queen turned things around in her favor and made Royce tap out in the Figure-Eight.  This match wasn’t perfectly polished, but it was pretty good and showed that Royce can go toe-to-toe with one of the best in the WWE.

Many believe Royce could have used the win more, and while that’s probably true, you want star power in Money in the Bank ladder matches.  And Charlotte brings that as well as a history of producing excellence and innovation.  Whether she gets the win next month is another story, but her inclusion in the match should result in memorable moments.

The Queen can now call herself money and she proved she has The IIconics’ number after weeks of adversity from the heelish duo.

Final Grade: B
