1. Rusev vs. Daniel Bryan

Money in the Bank helped give Daniel Bryan a career breakthrough back in 2010 when he won the briefcase and became World Heavyweight Champion a few months later.  And last night saw Bryan get a shot at joining another Money in the Bank ladder match when he competed in the main event against a rising superstar.

Bryan took on Rusev with the winner going on to join the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match next month.  A key factor of this match was Bryan’s condition after an attack by Big Cass at the Backlash pay-per-view after Bryan made Cass tap out.  And as it turned out, that factor would greatly affect the match.

The match itself was very good with both superstars shining.  Bryan’s in-ring prowess never ceases to amaze and Rusev more than held his own as well.  It went back and forth with great counters and tense moments across the board.  But the ending was particularly surprising with Rusev gaining the advantage.

The Bulgarian Brute hit Bryan with a big kick and pinned him clean for the win and the right to join the Money in the Bank ladder match.  It wasn’t surprising that Rusev got the win, but it was surprising he beat Bryan clean.  This was the best move in the long run because Rusev needs the opportunity and this can also help Bryan’s comeback story in the long run.

Every day is Rusev Day and in Chicago next month, Rusev Day could become money and hold a WWE Championship opportunity in the palm of his hand.
