Ronda Rousey vs. Mickie James

We have an interesting, under-the-radar storyline brewing between Natalya and Ronda Rousey. Natalya was sent to Monday Night Raw during the Superstar Shakeup, and it was immediately established that she and Rousey are good friends.

Mickie James is involved in the storyline as a thorn in Natalya’s side, and the two had a match on Apr. 30. Natalya won via roll-up in a quick match, but she barely escaped with a win. Most of the focus was on Alexa Bliss, Ronda Rousey, and Nia Jax outside of the ring, as Bliss was trying to interfere to help James.

I believe Rousey will face James at Money in the Bank and defeat her, and it will likely be a competitive match. James will have some underhanded, veteran heel tactics, and perhaps she’ll have some help from Bliss, too. This is a big showcase match for Rousey and, on some level, James, and I’m sure both women will find a way to shine.

In the long-term, Natalya and Rousey are destined to have a falling out, and I expect that to happen sooner rather than later. I’d tentatively pencil them in for a match at SummerSlam. That match will be even better than Rousey vs. James, because there will be a long-term build. Nattie and Rousey are likely more familiar with each other, and the match would be on a bigger stage at SummerSlam.
