Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship

I firmly believe Cedric Alexander needs to have a lengthy run with the Cruiserweight Championship, because he is indeed the right face for 205 Live. His win against Mustafa Ali at WrestleMania 34 in the finals of the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament was as emotional of a moment as we’ve seen in WWE to this point. Alexander worked his ass off and bet on himself in order to get to this point, and he’s always stood out no matter what has been asked for him.

It clearly is Alexander’s time at the top, and I love Buddy Murphy as a first challenger for Alexander. Murphy won a Fatal Four-Way match against Kalisto, Akira Tozawa, and TJP weeks ago to earn a title opportunity, but that opportunity at the Greatest Royal Rumble was taken away from him when he failed to make weight.

However, Murphy got himself back under 205, and he showed 205 Live GM Drake Maverick why he is the right man to face Alexander at the next Pay Per View. Murphy and Ali tore down the house in a rematch from their encounter in the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, but this time, Murphy got his revenge.

This match has show-stealing potential, because these two have been among the best wrestlers in the company in 2018. Murphy, in particular, has been impressive, showing why the “Best Kept Secret” moniker isn’t just a gimmick.

Prediction: Cedric Alexander
