WWE NXT has been firing on all cylinders since Takeover: New Orleans, would it continue that form this week as it continues to build towards Chicago?
NXT’s next big event, Takeover: Chicago, is six weeks away, and several pieces are now beginning to fall into place for the upcoming event.
With several key superstars having moved up to the main roster, WWE NXT continued to establish the brand’s next stars this week, with former Impact star EC3 making his solo debut, and former NJPW tag team The War Raiders also making their presence felt.
If that wasn’t enough, Tommaso Ciampa, arguably the hottest property in the WWE right now, competed in the night’s main event with Kassius Ohno. Would Johnny Gargano make his grand return? Elsewhere on the card, Dakota Kai was set for action against Vanessa Bourne, but the New Zealand born star would no doubt be keeping an eye out for NXT women’s champion, Shayna Baszler, who has been tormenting her in recent weeks.
NXT has really managed to find its rhythm again in 2018, and with the main roster struggling creatively since WrestleMania 34, could the yellow and black brand continue to outshine its big brother? Let’s take a look at all of this week’s action and find out.
