The WWE Raw crew was in London this week as the build to Money in the Bank continued. Who tops our power rankings this week?
This week, WWE is on one of its regular trips overseas to Europe. When television tapings happen overseas, the usual result is a less than thrilling show due to possible spoilers getting out before the show airs. But this week, there was actually some excitement spread out over the three hours. So, bonus!
Every week after Raw, we’ll take a look at the roster to find out who is in the best position moving forward. But, much like the creative team, we’re not paying attention to wins and losses only. They matter a bit, but a strong loss is better than a lousy win, at least as far as I’m concerned. Championships? They have their place, but just because a particular superstar has a heavy piece of gold around their waste doesn’t guarantee them a spot at the top. And if a superstars doesn’t have a match, they can still move up or down based on what they did in a given week.
So what does contribute to our rankings? Long term potential is key — how is a superstar’s position today leading to tomorrow? The past helps, too — just because someone has a big win one week doesn’t negate 17 weeks of losses before that. Think of ESPN’s NFL power rankings, where a 5-3 team could be ranked higher than a 6-2 team.
Let’s take a look at the updated power rankings for WWE Raw, following the May 14 episode.
