6. Bobby Lashley (last week: 7)

Lashley moves up a single spot for two reasons this week. First, his feud with Sami Zayn is picking up. It’s the first bit of direction he’s had since returning to WWE after a decade’s absence. No more random team-ups with Braun Strowman to kill time, no more showdowns with Elias that don’t go anywhere. Having an actual program to focus on should help the WWE Universe get behind Lashley — especially those who don’t know about his past stint with the company.

And second, there was no more creepy, weird, awkward, sit down interview about loving his family. It’s a great sentiment, don’t get me wrong — hell, I love my family. But that sociopathic stare into the camera with a smirky grin as he professed his love for his family? Too much, man. The less we see that, the better for Lashley.

5. Kevin Owens (last week: 13)

It seems like it’s been forever and a day, but Kevin Owens may finally be back. He may not have gone anywhere, but nearly his entire stay on SmackDown Live was devoted to an ill-advised feud with Shane McMahon. Like, the whole thing lasted almost a calendar year. Everyone wants long-term storytelling in WWE, but the only one we get is “boss’s son/authority figure has a problem with one of his employees.”

This week on WWE Raw, Owens pulled double duty. He opened the show as one half of the best match of the night against Seth Rollins. Then he closed it out as Jinder Mahal’s replacement in the MITB qualifier. And then he won it! It was a great night for KO, the first for him in a long time.
