Seth Rollins: 6 Surprise Opponents For IC Title Open Challenge

Buddy Murphy
205 Live has been one of the most surprising aspects of WWE television in recent months. The void that was created with Enzo A’more’s firing has been perfectly filled with exceptional wrestling and Drake Maverick’s insertion as a great general manager. The focus on wrestling has created some of the best matches on television at this time. One of the individuals to watch is Buddy Murphy, who has blossomed since joining the cruiserweight division.
The former NXT tag team champion had become a middling personality on the roster since he split with Wesley Blake. Murphy was still a part of the NXT roster but was kept off of television for majority of the year. All of that changed when he was introduced as a participant of the cruiserweight tournament this year. Murphy’s introduction as a new character has allowed him to flourish as a heel. He and Mustafa Ali have had a pair of strong matches and his May 29th match against Cedric Alexander for the title is one of the most highly anticipated matches this month.
If Murphy was a surprise opponent for Rollins and the two put on the type of the match they are capable of, this creates an opening to draw attention to the 205 Live brand. Murphy can easily be a big time heel for 205 and allowing him to have a competitive match against Rollins gives Murphy some legitimacy that can rub off on the rest of the 205 Live roster.
